SNAC International's 2017 Emerging Leaders Program Graduates

November 16, 2017

SNAC International’s Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), November 1-3, brought over 50 high-potential snack industry employees to Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Now in its third year, SNAC International with Georgetown faculty have established a unique professional development program designed to equip the next generation of snack industry professionals with the skills they need to meet a dynamic industry.

Attendees from every sector of the industry, took a seat for classroom-style lectures that included team building exercises, open discussions and hands-on activities. The first day of the Emerging Leaders Program covered the definition and perception of leadership, particularly in the context of teams, and how to assess team leadership and effectiveness in professional settings. The remainder of the program focused on motivating employees, progressive employment practices, how to be an effective communicator in an increasingly global world, and the essential attributes to be successful in a “VUCA” world from charisma to confidence. In collaboration with the various topics covered, attendees participated in multiple hands-on activities that involved innovative thinking, team communication, and creativity.

SNAC International and SNAC’s Board of Directors have underwritten the expense of the program and offered it at no cost to member companies. The Association looks forward to continuing investing in the future of the snack industry. SNAC International congratulates the 2017 class of Emerging Leaders and hopes to progress their growth and participation in SNAC International and the snack industry.
