SFA CEO Tom Dempsey Testifies in Congress on GMO Labeling Law

On December 10, SFA President and CEO Tom Dempsey testified before the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Health on food industry supported GMO bill H.R. 4432, the "Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act" which pre-empts state GMO labeling laws and creates one federal standard. GMO's Are Safe: Both Democrats and Republicans and all witnesses testifying agreed that GMO's are safe.

A Federal Standard is Needed: Both Democrats and Republicans in Congress seemed to have reached consensus that a federal standard is necessary, and that a patchwork of state and local laws would harm interstate commerce.
