SNAC Advocacy

Advocacy is one of the three pillars of SNAC International. SNAC International's government affairs team represents member companies' interests in Washington, DC on a variety of issues, including: labeling regulations, the Food Safety Modernization Act, Dietary Guidelines, transportation and freight issues, free choice for SNAP participants, Fair Labor Policy, science-based nutrition policy, and more.

SNAC International fosters member involvement through its Government Affairs Committee, Nutrition Working Group, and through facilitating connections to policymakers. SNAC also educates members on what they need to know to stay compliant with food safety, labeling, transportation, and other regulations. SNAC International’s Annual Legislative Summit

Each spring, SNAC International members embark on Washington, D.C. to meet with their Senators and Representatives on Capitol Hill to discuss the industry’s key issues and how legislative policy affects their businesses. At the Legislative Summit, attendees also have the opportunity to hear from SNAC International’s expert consultants and keynote speakers to learn more about the wide range of issues impacting the industry.
